Pagan Manifesto
Lyrics and music - Castalia
This song was not written from the fresh eyes of a newly dedicated Pagan, but rather from the wearier and wiser eyesof a ritual and teaching veteran of some years. The song is an affirmation of why the old ways should not be put aside.
Let us not abandon our gods
For they have served us long
Let us not cut oursleves off
From the people from which we have come
And all of the heartache
And all of the pain
Half the mistakes
And three quarters the blame
They gave us their honour
Their stories their fame
So we gave them their names.
Let us not forget sacred lands
Let us not grow cold
Let us not stop dancing the dances
Our ancestors danced days of old
And all of the laughter
And all of the love
All the times that below
Wasn't quite as above
And when it seemed
We'd have to give up
We survived in spite of it all.
And all of the laughter
And all of the love
All the times that below
Wasn't quite as above
And when the gods felt
They'd had quite enough
They sure didn't let on.
Let us not abandon our gods
For they have served us long
Let us not cut oursleves off
From the people from which we have come
