I Believe
(In The Circle's Light)
Lyrics and music - Castalia
This is the first pagan song that Castalia ever wrote, about six months after she became active within a pagan community. Its simplicity endures as do the ideas of balance and harmony, and of above and below. She sometimes calls it the Dedication Song, because it reflects a lot feelings she had about the timeof her dedication to the pagan way.
I stand in the circle
I raise my arms
I work at the altar
To make my charms
And I believe in the circle's light
And I believe it is right
I believe in the fire
I believe in the air
I believe in the power
That comes from there
I walk with the water
I kiss the earth
For they took that power
And caused my birth
And I believe in what they stand for
I believe in the lady and the Lord.
The circle is cast
The candles shine bright
The people have gathered
To share in this rite
To live in is laughter
To join in its love
To know that below shall be
Just as above
And we believe in what we stand for
We believe in the Lady and the Lord.
We believe in the fire
We believe in the air
We believe in the power
That comes from there
We walk with the water
We kiss the earth
For they took that power
And caused my birth
And we believe in what they stand for
We believe in the Lady and the lord
We're working for love
To do all we can
To strengthen the bond between
All women and men
The circles will grow
And change as they must
Yes! we shall show
Perfect loving and trust
For we believe in what it stands for
We believe in the Lady and the Lord.
Repeat
"We believe in the Lady and the Lord"
