Slip Away
By an Unknown Irish Poet. Lyrics adapted by Castalia Music: Castalia
Slip away to the woods tonight
Ye children of the Moon,
And rejoice that Spring has come at last,
That Spring has come around
Chorus:
Slip away, slip away, children of the Moon,
Slip away, slip away, Spring has come around.
We've endured he Winter's cold
And shivered in the snow
Now the shroud pulls back from the Mother's breast,
See the promised green below.
We've awaited long the Spring's return,
Never doubting that the fire still burns,
In the Circle we stand for tonight,
Feel the heat… and see the light.
Then we greet the God with reverence,
Pour libations on the Earth.
This the night that the Mother proves
Death's natural end is birth.
